Stacy Sanders - Teacher Librarian
Hello! I'm amazed at how fast time goes by! I have been the school librarian/media specialist at Gretna Elementary for eighteen years. I worked as a library teacher in the Omaha Public Schools before moving to Gretna. Before I became a school librarian, I taught first grade. I adore my job at GES and am incredibly appreciative of the chance to work with every one of our Kindergarten through Fifth Grade children. I adore working with children and spreading my love of reading and education!
My husband, Dave and I have two sons, Spencer and Parker after attending GES, both of our boys went on to graduate from GHS. The GPS schools are fantastic! Our oldest son received a welding degree from Iowa Western and our youngest is pursuing a career in IT through Metro Community College.
We enjoy traveling and have been to lots of different places via cars, trains, planes and ships. It doesn't matter how we get there, we just love to go! We also like puzzles, board games and watching or attending sporting events. I'm an AVID Husker fan and love watching our volleyball, football and basketball teams! I'm also a hockey fan and follow the Omaha Lancers and the NY Islanders. In my spare time, I like to crochet and I've recently learned how to crochet animals, which is a lot of fun!
As you would imagine, I also love reading and inspiring others to see how much enjoyment can be had with books. I read lots of different types of stories and will read just about anything that is recommended to me. I especially enjoy talking about books with others. It’s just so much fun and a great way to see what others think about books.
I look forward to another great year at Gretna Elementary and getting to work with all of you. There are so many great things and books that I can’t wait to share with you!
Michelle Stover - Library Para
Hello, my name is Michelle Stover. I relocated from Florida to Nebraska in 1989. I am happily married and have a son who graduated from Gretna High School. Since August 2013, I have been a part of the Gretna Elementary School community, where I serve as the Library Media Para. I thoroughly enjoy working alongside Mrs. Sanders. It’s incredibly rewarding to discover the students’ interests and help them find books they love.
